PORTUGAL – THE ALGARVE COAST   

Portugal is located on the southwest part of the Iberian peninsula, towards Spain in North and to the East, and to the Atlantic ocean in South and West.

Algarve is the part of Portugal that might be best known amongst Norwegians, and were the climate is the best in Europe. It is an Eldorado for golfplayers.

The country is divided into different provinces that includes the archipelagos Madeira and the Azores. In the North there are mountains, and Serra da Estrela is the highest point and a popular place for skiing in the winter.

A mountain chain creates the border towards the Algarve region in the South. Algarve is the southernmost region of Portugal, and with its wide beaches it is the most popular target for holidays.
